Simplicity prevails over any superfluous artifice.
MARÍA DE LA MAGDALA

The film Mary Magdalene is a 2018 biblical drama about the historical figure of Mary of Magdala (year 33 AD). Her name refers to her place of origin. Directed by Garth Davis and starring Rooney Mara, Joaquin Phoenix, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tahar Rahim. The entire film is adorned with exquisite wardrobe care by designer Jacqueline Durran. I was very impressed, well before starting de.LENZO, in the imprint and personality that those natural-colored canvases gave to the characters throughout the story. But, especially, I fell in love with the first half, where the scenes that recreate the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River mix the gray colors of the waters with the neutral colors of the dresses and the sand... the high quality of the fabrics and the the success of its composition and its arrangement, convert what could be simple cloths into authentic dresses, where simplicity prevails over any superfluous artifice.

Serve this magnificent film, as a graphic testimony of the roots that linen has, in the History of Civilization, throughout the centuries, and a brushstroke of the multitude of uses that it was given: pieces of canvas, shearwaters , panniers, etc. Still today, when we squeeze it with both hands and bring it close to our face to smell it, to feel it, we perceive that smell, that unmistakable warmth that only natural products, the products of the land, transmit, and that is part of the essence that we want to convey to you with our project de.LENZO
